Impact of zolmitriptan on migraineur lifestyle an observational study
Abstract
This observational study assessed the effect of zolmitriptan on the daily activities of patients with migraine. The study was conducted in the United Kingdom and data were collected via interviews with individual migraineurs using a simple questionnaire. A total of 32 patients with migraine who had been using zolmitriptan for at least three months were recruited. After the introduction of zolmitriptan, patients reported reductions in migraine severity, disruption of normal activities and days absent from work. The reduction in days absent from work was shown to potentially reduce the indirect costs associated with migraine. Since taking zolmitriptan, the majority of respondents (80%) expected to consult their doctor less often and 90% said they were very likely to continue to use zolmitriptan in the future.
